Your kitchen is truly the heart of your home. So much activity takes place there every single day, multiple times a day. That’s one reason it should be important to you to make it as welcoming and as comfortable as possible.

Breakfast areas are used for so much more than just eating. My little family uses our breakfast area for doing homework, opening the mail, and more importantly, game nights.

I love this little breakfast nook designed by the talented Chenault James because it’s bright and colorful without bombarding your senses. The yellow, green, and blue color palette is soothing to the eye while the leaf fabric on the banquet cushions adds movement to the space. If you look closely, you can see that the cushion fabric has been laminated which makes it so easy to clean up spills, which are bound to happen.

The metal chairs, the plates on the wall and the shade pendant are all the same shade of yellow. The shade pendant has gold foil lining, so I am sure it gives off the most lovely warm glow when lit. The bright white on the walls and the tulip table keep the space feeling crisp and modern.

love where you live!
