inspiration of the week: a ladies library

here it is…

Anne White Interiors Blog | inspiration of the week: a ladies library

Libraries don't always need to be dark and masculine.

I love this little library because it's light, bright and inviting. It's hard to see in the picture, but the library has cerused oak, or "limed wood," paneling. The wood has a whitewashed look to it, helping to keep the space casual and bright.

The color pallet for the room is drawn from the amazing area rug. The yellow love seat with its Fortuny pillows invites you to come and curl up with a good book. The slipper chairs are just the right touch, adding extra seating that is comfortable but not overwhelming.

The cherry on top, for me, is the frosted glass star pendant. I am sure it gives off the most magnificent glow at night. The two wall sconces along with the six library lights should provide you with ample wattage if you want to actually read in this room. I love rooms that entice you to visit both during the day and at night.

Hope you have a great week!
